Optical Physics
The project is an exploration of perception and optics. Inspired by my own struggles with vision due to degenerative myopia and astigmatism, the images display an otherworldly and disorienting way of seeing. It alludes to the inner obstacles that people endure daily that often go unnoticed. Using a prism of mirrors, the images show the connection between light, optics, refraction, and reflection. The blue and green colors symbolize the calming qualities of nature in an effort to demonstrate the importance of self-acceptance and perseverance in spite of differences and difficulties.

Mediated Lenses
This collection of images is an exploration of my experience with perception and optics. With degenerative myopia and astigmatism, I can only see the world mediated through specialty lenses. The images are a representation of a way of seeing the world with my unique vision – through thick glasses and contacts filled with liquid. The vivid color of the images demonstrates the significance of finding beauty in the world despite difficulties. It is important to find a reason to keep looking forward.
